Open invitation to take part in the Workshop "Mail Art Action" on the 30th April 2022 at 4pm at Treptow-Ateliers, Wilhelminenhofstr. 83-85, 12459, Berlin.
As part of our upcoming event KUNST MACHT SPASS (organized by Treptow Ateliers for Saturday the 7th of Mai 2022, at 3pm, Wilhelminenhofstr. 90a, 12459, Berlin) the artist Matteo Peterlini is going to make a collective and participatory Mail Art Action.
You are invited to take part in a workshop and the open call. Make an art work on a preprinted postcard that will be sent to the relevant institutions of Berlin.
The workshop is to allow you to understand the meaning of Mail Art as an historical, decentralized system and also a medium that can be used to manifest your thoughts directly. Mail Art is an act of gift, it is something to offer.
It brings you to feel the energy of communication in a pure way. Mail Art is a Helter Skelter mechanism that allows you to use your own artistic language and engages you to be and feel part of the artist community.
The idea is to use this open platform of a workshop to engage the people to learn what Mail Art is and to produce art using the mail system.
What is worth bringing to the Workshop???
Bring your art (remember, it might end up in someone else's hands)
Bring tools (such as a rubber stamp, a flower, a yellow rubbish plastic bag).
Bring your thoughts, something you never say to someone.
Bring the pastel colors you never used or bring an A4 copy of your favorite Renaissance artist.
Bring your energy, together we will drop it onto a postcard.
The message you will put into the postcard/artwork might be more or less related with the situation on our ateliers.
We favor fighting hate campaigns, emergence of narrow nationalism, all forms of racism and attacks on democracy.
Let's get together on the 30th of April 2022 at 4 pm at Treptow Ateliers !
In case you cannot be part of the workshop remember:
every day from 30th April until 6 Mai 2022 from 5pm to 6pm Treptow Ateliers will be open to give you the instructions and the postcards.
